I use red light and near-infrared light to promote healing and pain relief within the body.
Red light is within the visible spectrum and penetrates the surface layer of the skin. It can have a beneficial effect on a variety of skin conditions such as acne and rosacea, older scar tissue and wrinkles.
Near-infrared light is beyond the visible spectrum that the human eye can detect but the wavelengths can penetrate deeper into the body tissue, helping to heal tissues below skin level. It can have a beneficial effect on muscles and joints, bringing relief from pain and stimulating tissue healing and bone strengthening.
The lamp that I use is a combined red light and infrared light, with LED bulbs for emitting both frequencies.
Unlike Ultraviolet (UV) light, which can have harmful effects on the body, red light therapies are known to promote healing rather than causing cellular damage.
